Upon presenting the crown to the powers that be, (second time, after passing out) I enter a combat scene between a solitary 'unknown here' and a gazillion lizards - and it's off to game over. None of my characters are involved in the battle.  Is this supposed to happen or have I hit a bug?

No, you've got to stay alive for a set time.

Thanks - didn't realize it was a timed event - just came out of nowhere.
