Hey guys I put boots of striding on my paladin. Hes lightly encumbered and in combat has a movement of 4. I'm a little bit confused by what these boots are supposed to do?
why? they remove heavy armor penalty, they increase if needed movement to i believe 6, and remove long jump check.....none of this involves you having a encumbrance due to weight carried
Well the boots say "Unaffected by encumbrance penalties"
A silly thought, but did you attune them to him? Should be done after a short rest.
They need attuning.
They were attuned (short rest, the item was glowing with his portrait while equipped etc.) , I think it was a bug that was either just fixed or somehow fixed on its own. Or maybe the item had a level requirement? I'm unsure whats going on but it works now.
