Black Tentacles weird behavior

I discovered some behavior with the Black Tentacles spell that I believe to be in error. Here are the weird seemingly incorrect behaviors:
-The DC to break out of the effect with an action is 10 and not the spell save DC as observable here
-Unlike the tabletop version of the spell this check uses Athletics or Acrobatics, users choice, for letting a person break out. The Tabletop version uses a Strength or Dexterity check this lets restrained creatures use their proficiency bonus which weakens the spell overall.

There are also a couple of differences from tabletop that I figure I'd put here in case they were not intentional:
-It seems that there are additional saves every turn when a target is restrained but making this save does not appear to prevent the damage for the turn or change the restrained status.
-The tabletop version of the spell uses a Dex save and this game's version uses a Str save and I'm not sure why this might be true.

Finally, it seems like enemies never try to break free. Even enemies that don't have a ranged attack or anything productive to do with their action. I don't know if this is a bug per se but it makes the spell much stronger and doesn't really make sense for creatures with intelligence scores. Here is an Orc Chieftan that, having run out of javelins or whatever it is they throw, has decided that he likes the feeling of rubbery tentacles thwaping away at his manly hind quarters:
