AI: enemies are doing dumb moves

I got three characters in L position (C1-3) and one enemy (E1) is coming to hit C1 character:

E1

C1
C2 C3

It moved to:

C1 E1
C2 C3

So it was exposed to attacks from 3 characters (who were playing after in the round).
I would expect it moved to:

E1
C1
C2 C3

I also noticed sometimes enemies are moving to hit one character which is far, and get 2 free reaction attacks from 2 characters who were at contact:

C1 C2 ....... C3
E1->

Here it moved to hit C3 while exposed to C1 & C2 reaction attacks:

C1 C2 ....... C3
..................E1

Exposed or locking down? I like to move my tank next to as many enemies as possible to lock down their position (or force an opportunity attack if they decide to leave).

But I get your point - most times it makes more sense to limit exposure, meaning limiting the number of enemies in melee range.

Exposed or locking down?

Well, in this case that was a weak enemy, hardly a tank, so it was a pretty dumb move. Of course, if it was a tank, the move would have been perhaps more interesting.
