Acute Senses feat does not work for camp encounters

My Ranger has Acute Senses and still manages to get surprised by camp encounters.

my entire party has it and gets surprised. Dam I wish I cud change it to something else now but way to late to go back to that point lol. I expect it will get on the list tho, patience is a virtue lol.
